There are touches that are good

And touches that are bad, and apparently in this photo Rosie O'Donnell is either attempting to or laying one serious bad touch down on BaaBaa Wawas.

We all know that Sinead O'Connor (if you haven't seen her with hair, you'll be pleasantly suprised) was banninated from SNL, and why she was, but did you know there's a whole laundry list of celebs (well not all are really celebs, Steven Seagal is on the list) who have had their Live from New York Privileges yoinked. If you're at all curious about the whos and whys, check out this link.

And while we're on the topic of Irish Activists; there's been a lot of noise about how Bono's Red Campaign with the GAP has cost somewhere in the neighbourhood of 52 million pounds (about $119 million Canadian) for advertising and has only managed to raise about 9 million pounds ($20.6 million Canadian) to go towards AIDS & HIV treatment.

If you were to look at this from a business or investment point of view, obviously it was a huge loss, but if you want to look at it as way of raising awareness, perhaps it was a success? I couldn't say, do I know more or care more about HIV/AIDS for having seen someone in an Inspi(RED) t-shirt at the mall?

Honestly? I don't think so, but here's to hoping that buying that shirt raised that person's awareness some . . . no matter how you look at it, you have to wonder wouldn't the money that went into this advertising campaign have been better spent on the cause instead of commercials?

Or the money spent on the gear been better spent on the cause as well . . . but what better way to let people know you care than rocking out on your new RED iPOD. But maybe that's just cynicism on my part, after all this way you get the new mobile phone you were going to buy anyway AND get to make a donation through the GAP.

It's win win.

And finally in an attempt to make up for yesterday's Speed Racer heartbreak, here's some great news on the Transformers movie front. According to this article when the MPAA first reviewed the movie they slapped an R-rating on it (do you think it's for robot sex, violence, language or a little of them all?). . . until Steven Spielberg, or his non-union Mexican equivalent Steven Spielbergo, stepped in and got them to change their minds. Here's to hoping that they didn't have to edit out any of the good stuff to get the R-rating dropped.

Later and don'tcha wish your girlfriend was hot like me?
